In this video, I’m going to teach you how to give a self-introduction in 15 seconds or less to create a good impression. You can use this to introduce yourself before a presentation or when meeting people.
I don’t think you can ever stop improving how you create an impression with people. There’s no one best way to do give a good impression, so it’s always a good idea to learn more and try different things.
In this week’s presentation tip, you’ll learn how to give a good impression in less than 15 seconds. I say 15 seconds because people these days are so easily distracted and so busy that we have to get their attention in the shortest amount of time possible.
So check out this week’s video presentation tip: “15 Seconds To Success Or Failure”
I would also like to know how you like to introduce yourself or what you have seen that was impressive to you. Good luck and never stop learning!
Good Morning,
I’ve been watching a few of your presentations with interest and they look very professionally done, which is a credit to your dedication and the way in which you go about your work, however I was wondering if you don’t appear to be as relatable to your target audience, I think there could be a bit more work done somewhere on how you learn to grow your confidence and polish your presentation skills, (I’ve been a member of Toastmasters in the past and been to meetings in several countries, plus I’ve sat through literally hundreds of presentations conducted by numerous people with differing skill levels and knowledge of their subject matter in various business and recreational environments, probably in a similar manner to yourselves only a lesser degree. The point I’m about to make is I feel you could give an annecdote on how you have learned your craft, what you struggled with, how you overcame your challenge, some tips for getting started. I appreciate that you have some of these ‘tips’ mentioned in your videos and I was thinking it may be beneficial to explain some of the learning and practice challenges you’ve had getting to where you are now, people need to believe it’s possible to improve and be polished enough to give a credible professional talk before they will embark on the journey themselves.
Just an observation.
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate the feedback and the time you took in writing.
I think you hit the nail on the head with your suggestions. I forgot that people like those kinds of stories and that they do help with credibility. That’s awesome of you to suggest that!
Since we’re not updating this site with new posts, I’ll do something over on my main http://www.carlkwan.com site for the New Year. I’ll post an update here so people can find out about it when it’s up. It would be a good way to start 2013! 🙂
Thanks again!
All the best,
Carl
