Here’s a very simple sample English presentation where I will give an introduction and tell you what my topics will be.
Notice that I introduce what I want to say and summarize it, too.
Anyway, have a look and let us know what you think.

hey Carl thanks for guiding us.I’m Miss Nidhi Vyas…and i have some queries regarding presenting a presentation.my 1st language is not English Nextly,i have to give presentations on certain topic but i need a complete idea of giving a presentation.
starting a presentation
what dress code should I wear
how to follow up if the next topic is being conducted by my friend
if some one asks a question which we are not able to answer….!!
how to stand,
how to speak,
what gestures can put a good or bad impression
by the time reading this you might have come to know that i’m a bit confused about the presentations.
i would earnestly request you to guide me regarding the subjects question’d above. please reply at your earliest.
thank you.
Hi Nidhi,
Nice to hear from you and thanks for the questions. I’m sure there are many people just like you that want answers to those same questions. So…
For questions 1, 2, 4, and 5, we have the answers here on the site. Sorry I don’t have the links for you, but they’ll be under sample presentations and presentation expressions.
For 3, 6, and 7, we’ll work on something for everyone. But here’s a quick suggestion for introducing your presentation partner:
Simply say: “And now Jane is going to talk to you about Pineapples. Jane?” Then Jane should say, “Thanks, Nidhi” and then give her presentation.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you’re still unsure what to do.
Thanks again.

Hi Carl,
Nice video. It will be great if you can create tutorial on “How to introduce yourself via email”, when you are meeting someone new in business meeting through reference.
Hi Sukhjinder,
Thanks for the comment and for watching. That’s a very unique situation because it’s not possible for the person to see or hear you. So, I have suggestions…
First, make an audio or video recording to introduce yourself. It’s more personable and will create a good impression if you do it well. The audio should be a screen capture video with information about you or your company/organization.
The second idea is to write your email like a Twitter post. Keep it short and to the point and use only 140 characters. Something that tells how you can help or be of service would be best.
In both cases, choose a good email subject line that will get their attention.
Thanks again and hope that helps.
Good luck.

Hey!i want to ask you about presentation in this criteria if i am going to present presentation slides and report which are made after completing MBA ..It is compulsory for us to present…so how to do present in front of my study instructors or others….
Hi Rubia,
First, congratulations on completing your MBA! That’s fantastic! And thanks for the question.
It sounds like this is an important presentation. What is the topic that you have to present? How long do you have to present for? When is the presentation? You’ll need to give me more information before I can really give you any advice. However, I recommend checking out our free presentations course for ideas on preparing your presentation.

Hi Carl Kwan, I really like this video. Can you give me some advice about how can I begining a presentation with subject ” 5 things of country ” due to 5 pictures.
Thanks for your help !
Hi Rikku,
Thank you so much for visiting and for taking the time to watch and send me a message!
I would start by answering some questions:
1. Who is the presentation for?
2. What do you know already about those 5 things?
3. Can you tell a story about your experience with any one of them?
4. What do the 5 pictures have in common?
5. How long is your presentation?
I would suggest #2 and 3 as a good start, then try to make your experience understandable for the audience. If they know nothing about the pictures, but you know a lot, then you’ll have to explain more detail.
You can begin by saying something, “When I heard we had to give a presentation about “5 Things of Country,” I was really worried. But then I saw that one of the pictures is a place I visited and really enjoyed. I went there when I was… ”
Then after your short story you can say, “But I also found out some interesting things about the other 4 places that I want to tell you about, too. “Place A” is… ”
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Good luck and thanks again.
Carl
Thanks Carl for your feedback !
My teacher told me that I have to begining presentation by “Quotation” which one of ways to starting presentation. Then make a video to show that.
Due to your advice and your videos, I think that what I have to do is :
1. Introduce : Hi everybody, I’m Rikku and he is … next to him is … next to her is …
2. Purpose : We are here today to tell you one country in the world.
3 . How long : Our presentation will last for 20 minutes.
4. First of all, I’d like to begin our presentation with 5 things of this country. We have 5 pictures for you, try to guess what is the country due to information from it …
Please give me more detail about ” Quotation” way, how can I talk to begining of my presentation.
Thanks again !
Hi Rikku,
That presentation structure looks good.
For the quote, I would choose one that relates to the country you have to introduce. I think a quote from someone from the same country would be ok, but you can’t tell them who said it and someone might be able to guess.
Maybe use a quote from someone unrelated, but that relates to the country is better. You can say, “Albert Einstein once said…” and then tell your quote. After, you can say, “What Einstein said is a good reflection of the people from the country we’re going to introduce.” Then you can use #4 that you already prepared.
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
When is the presentation?
I find that your tips and guides are helpful. I’ll be presenting my research paper, for the first time in a conference very soon. Glad to discover your videos in Youtube. Thanks.
Zai,

Hi Zai,
Thank you so much for visiting and for the kind words. Great to see someone from Malaysia here!

And I hope your cat Bubu’s leg is ok 🙂
Hi Carl,
Thanks for visiting my website. Bubu is doing great.
Well, thank God that my presentation went quite smooth and that I managed to provide satisfactory answers to questions raised by the audience. However, I admit that I felt nervous! Presenting an assignment in the class before fellow coursemates is easier.
Hi Zai,
Glad to hear Bubu’s doing great!
And very happy your presentation went smooth. Usually, the audience never notices that someone’s nervous. Now that you’ve done it, you can do it next time easily and better 🙂
Congratulations!
please tell me how i am making my presentation perfect .. can you tell me a good topic for presentation
hi carl: please tell me how i am making my presentation perfect .. can you tell me a good topic for presentation
Hi raja,
Thanks for the message!
You’ll have to provide some more information since I don’t know anything about what you have to do 🙂
What do you have to give a presentation for? For a class, seminar, meeting…? Who is the audience? Let’s start there and with your answers I can ask more questions and help you figure out a good topic.
All the best.
Carl
Hi Carl,
So happy to see ur video in Youtube and really useful for me.
I will give my first presentation next saturday in my public speaking class. I need ur advice about what topic should I choose. 🙂
Jenny,
Indonesia
Hi Jenny,
Thank you for your comment! Happy to hear the video was useful.
Hope things are going well in Indonesia 🙂
I just posted a new video about presentation content you might find useful. But most importantly, choose something your audience will be interested in. You could talk about something dramatic that happened to you. People like stories with suspense and mystery, so if you can add those elements to your presentation, then all the better.
Good luck!
Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions.
Carl
thanks a lot. wonderful steps.
do you have any book with the same use as above..i need one
hi carl…
this is srinath..am pursuing my btech third year……i watched your video ..it is more useful to me…..
i want toi make a presentation of 10 minutes in my english class…..rhe audience are my colleagues…..so please suggest me a topic like reality,or topic which to have to attract every one..please suggest an idea carl…..:)
Thank YOU! Maybe there should be a book! 🙂
Hi srinath,
Thanks for watching and for the question. To find a topic, it’s best to know your audience and what they’d like to hear. Since I don’t know your audience, it’d be almost impossible for me to suggest a topic. When is your presentation? To help, you might ask:
1. What is the purpose of the presentation?
2. Why is the audience attending the presentation or taking this class?
3. What challenges, or problems, or pains is the audience experiencing?
4. What solutions, or answers, or ideas can I share to help them?
Let me know if that helps or if you have any other questions.
Carl
hi carl…..thank you …
the audience are my classmates….they like to hear new informative and interesting topics…..my presentation is on this friday…..
1.the purpose of the presentation is to show their own communication skill,,
..
i request you to suggest a topic to present in my turn,…..
Then you should tell a story for your presentation. The topic doesn’t matter, as long as you can find a problem/challenge/difficulty that doesn’t have an easy solution. Then you need a hero and a villain. Sometimes, the villain can be the problem/challenge/difficulty. You need to include struggles faced by the hero and then how the hero eventually overcomes the situation and wins. It needs to be emotional in order to connect with your audience.
I recommend talking about somebody from your country’s history. Or someone your classmates look up to. Everyone has a story of struggle and triumph. Maybe even talk about yourself (or a family member) and any personal struggles you’ve experienced and how you overcame them.
Good luck. Let me know how it goes!
Carl
carl….thanks i made the presentation to best…
Can you please provide any samples so that I can use them to introduce myself to fellow classmates. FYI, I will be presenting it to MBA class.
Hi, and thanks for your message. Great that you took the initiative to find a better way to introduce yourself. I believe there are quite a few examples and tips for introducing yourself here on the site. Congratulations on being in an MBA program. Having an MBA has helped me, as I’m sure it will help you. Good luck.
Hi Carl! Actually I need to give a brief synopsis of my project presentation which is due this December. The synopsis is supposed to be one minute long and should give out details regarding what the presentation will carry. I need your help in how I should frame the body of my presentation. The topic of my presentation is domestic violence and substance abuse. (I’m a first year engineering student.) Thanks!
Hi Bhavika! Thanks for your message and question. Glad to see you’re preparing early! 🙂
Whatever you say should contain action words. What I mean is, you should state what your project will do, or how it will do something. Think in simple grammatical terms of subject, verb, object. Your synopsis should give a clear picture of what your presentation will achieve.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
All the best.
Carl
Hi Carl! Thanks a lot for the help. What else do I need to include apart from the purpose of my presentation. Please let me know about it at your earliest. Thanks!
Hi Bhavika,
Sorry for the late reply…Holiday in Korea 🙂
That’s about it. You only have one minute, so best to get to the point. Include how you will achieve the purpose. Time permitting, tell them why you chose it. If you can tell them the beginning, middle and ending of your presentation, that’d be good, too.
All the best,
Carl
hi carl……….
its a very good sample for any type of presentation it become very help full and effective.i am really impressed and i also follow this method
than x for this to present a easy way
Thank you so much! Good luck!

Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon every day.
It’s always helpful to read content from other writers and use something from other web
sites.
Howdy! I realize this is kind of off-topic however I had to ask.
Does building a well-established blog such as yours take a large amount of work?
I’m brand new to blogging however I do write in my diary on a daily
basis. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my personal experience and feelings online.
Please let me know if you have any kind of suggestions or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers.
Appreciate it!
I visited multiple web sites however the audio quality for audio songs current at this website is truly excellent.
hey sir, please try to give your video presentation in words because there are some words that we are not getting because of our bad English listening ! thanks
